Please Conserve Water!

The extended hot, dry weather seasons that we have been experiencing have created drought conditions throughout the entire state. Many areas in North Texas are already restricting water use in hopes of minimizing drought damage. While the City of Arlington has not implemented its Drought Contingency Plan, we urge all residents to conserve water wherever possible!

Here are some easy methods to try:

  • Filling the bathtub halfway or less.
  • Reducing shower times by 10-15 minutes.
  • Fixing any leaks from your sinks, faucets, toilets, or sprinklers.
  • Installing drip irrigation for trees, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Watering your landscape in early mornings or late at night.
  • Only washing full loads of laundry.

The voluntary water conservation tips listed above have been proven to reduce water usage per household by up to 20% per month and prevent the need for water use restrictions in the future.
